Art Lovers!. This One's For You

Updated: Dec 16, 2021

I remember when we first moved, I hadn’t thought about the theme in the house but only about my love for art, the result?, most of which ended up being sold on facebook market place.

I was online adding to basket without considering the room, the type of frame, the concept of the piece or that my taste would change. It did change..a lot and now I’m taking my time to curate the pieces that’ll be in my home a long time to come.

Art doesn’t have to be super expensive. If you have the time and patience you can diy. If you prefer to buy, it’s worth considering these;

~ Find pieces you love. The ones that inspire you not the ones you feel may grow on you. You’ll know when you spot the one.

~ Think about the colour in your room. If you’re not sure, it’s worth having a look on Pinterest or the art website to see what colours they’ve styled the art in.

~ Think about the frame. I made so many errors with this and believe me it’s so important. For instance, black frames bring out the quality of art making it look more elegant.

~ Make sure it’s art you and your family will love. It matters because you’re making your house a home for you all. For example my husband can’t understand my love for thin lines and soft petals in frames. He prefers a pop of colour, people or buildings in prints, so we compromise.

One trick I use now is, buying the prints and piling them up behind the frame. This way I can save more but switch up when I want to. Who else?

A few places to check for beautiful art prints are; @homesense_uk , @iamfy @cultfurniture @desenio @slaymyprint @johnlewis Pls add more in comments.

Till my next post, I’m sending you love and light.
